Avoid using excessive soap. Natural silk fibers possess antibacterial properties, so the towel will not become greasy or develop mold even without soap. If soap is necessary, use a mild detergent—such as one made from natural ingredients, or even shampoo or body wash—to avoid damaging the fibers.

Hang the towel to dry in the shade; avoid direct sunlight.

To remove excess water, simply squeeze the towel gently in your palm; do not wring or twist it, as this can cause the silk fibers to break.
